We had such a fun day! We got into Vancouver about 10 am, and met up with a Minneapolis news crew. They went with us to pick up our tickets. We (mostly my Mom) were on the 6 pm news! Very cool. We spent the next few hours walking around downtown and doing some shopping. We had a great lunch that was included with our ticket package. We made our long trek around the stadium and through security to our seats. We had great seats. Maybe 40 rows back! We spent about an hour being shown what we needed to do during the ceremony and listening to some pre-show entertainment. Very fun. Each person had to wear a poncho that was like a movie screen. We were also given a flashlight, candle and drum to use during the ceremony. Promptly at 6 pm the show began! It was sooooo cool. I was amazed at so many of the elements. The aerial work, the whales, the energy in the room. I enjoyed many of the songs too. I have already downloaded a few. I loved how the whole place was in support of Georgia. It has been neat to watch it on tv now and "see" us and get some explanations as to what we were seeing! I would love to go to another ceremony. I would like to see a few competitions too. I know many family members that would like to go. Who's on for London?! On the train ride back to Washington we met the coach for the Italian speed skaters. What could I train Marshall to do to be in the Olympics...
