Ouch!

Last night I took a ride to the store. I was getting out of the car and saw a toy on the ground. I stopped to get it. The car door closed and I screamed. (Yes, dogs can scream.)  Part of my tail was cut off by the door.  Just the tip, about 1/8 in.   Chad took me to the 24 hour vet. They kept me overnight and I had to have surgery.  They took off a little more of my tail so they could pull the skin enough to close it up.  I get my stitches out in 2 weeks. I have to try not to wag my tail.  Anyone who knows me knows this is not easy.  I am on some good drugs today and resting.

Green thumb

Heidi grows sunflowers, strawberries and tomatoes every year.  This year we only had a few strawberries. We ate them straight off the branches.  We have had a ton of tomatoes.  The sunflower... tallest one ever.  Next year we might try beans and cucumbers.

Glass blowing

For Heidi's birthday she bought a glass blowing certificate.  She used it this week.  Here is what she made.  Her two friends made the egg and ball.  Really cool!

I want out of this car...
Vacation is over. We drove 4000 miles.  It was a good trip. We left and not planned made it to WI in 31 hours. We were ready to be out of the car.  We spent the first few days taking it slow and just doing a few things. We went to some trains, took some walks, played fetch.  My people went bowling, to a birthday party, family reunion, state fair.  Marshall and Heidi went to her Mom's place for a couple days. ( I got to swim!!!)  We went kayaking!  I think my people are going to get some now.  We drove to Austin and saw some more people.  Back into the car.. we stopped a few more times this time.  Hotel's are interesting for me.  Our last hotel was very Bates like. We planned to stop about 11:30p.  Didn't know it was the kick off to football season and could not get a hotel room for 3 hours... We found a side of the road motel.. Had a room, $45 (we over paid).  But we needed sleep. Got up, drove HOME.  We are happy to be back.  So here is our trip in pictures.  I guess they are in backwards...
