So my people and I went to the Washington coast for a few days this past week. It was awesome! We had a house on the beach, well a short walk across sand dunes and a bridge to the beach.
Gotta rest up for the vacation!
Our place!
See that dot on the right on the beach?
It is a 68 foot fin whale that died about a month ago and was washed up on shore. It was disgusting and smelly! I loved it. I rolled in it! Here is a link to the news story.
Playing in the pacific ocean!! So much fun.
Looking back at the row of houses. Ours was about 4 in from the right.
Sunset.
Deer outside our window. I chased it once!
Marshall playing a bowling game.
Our last morning relaxing. I wanted to stay! My people promised we could go back!

I really enjoyed your vacations pictures, Brian. I can't believe you had a good time rolling on the dead whale. Ee1! The Washington state shores of the Pacific Ocean are really different from down in California, but pretty is a different sort of way. I'm glad you had such a good time.
Was the water cold?
What a fun vacation for all of you. People don't realize that when you live in Seattle that yoy aren't right on the ocean.
This sounds like a neat place to just have fun in the water and relax.
Wow! Lovely...any time spent near the ocean is good time. Another reason I'm not sure if I will be able to retire to Minnesota anymore. I just love being near the water too much...maybe Duluth?
So, what DO they end up doing with the whale anyway? Waiting for it to decompose to a certain point and then push it back out to sea? Curious...macabre, but curious.
Rachel, I was told they normally bury a whale, but it is so heavy and expensive they will let nature take its course.
Glad you had a nice time. I never want to leave either.
